Position: FEA Engineer

BU: Turbo & Emissions

Report to: Simulation Section Manager

Location: Shanghai

POSITION SUMMARY

Be able to do FEA analysis independently, and give the solution for design optimization and products failure analysis; familiar with engine and turbocharger structure and working principles; familiar with FEA software.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

l         Create and analyze FEA models consistent with product use environment;

l         Participate in the development of improved design guidelines consistent with customer requirements; Generate technical reports and present to internal and external customers.

l         Conduct FEA analysis for automotive exhaust system in terms of temperature distribution and stress/strain distribution

l         Perform appropriate level of CAD function to develop design concept

l         Apply engineering and problem solving methods and tools (FMEAs, 8ds) in resolving engineering design problems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

l         Master Degree in mechanics or related field; Ph.D Degree is a plus.

l         Related work experience in FEA; experience in the automotive industry or in a global manufacturing company is a plus.

l         Prior experience with engine development and automotive exhaust product development strongly preferred.

l         Strong background in applied mechanical engineering, life prediction and statistical analysis.

l         Must have good organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

l         Professional verbal and written communication skills essential both in English and Chinese are required, Germany is prefered.

l         Proficient with Microsoft office products — Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. 

l         Familiar with ANSYS, ABAQUS, AI*environment, Hypermesh and ProE.
