长飞公司创建于1988年5月，由中国电信集团公司、荷兰德拉克通信科技公司、武汉长江通信集团股份有限公司共同经营与管理，是我国唯一具备制棒、拉纤及成缆一体化规模生产能力的专业厂家。

　　长飞公司位于武汉市东湖高新技术开发区关山二路四号，占地面积达十五万平方米，员工总数约1000人，年销售额接近30亿元，是当今中国产品规格最齐备、生产技术最先进、生产规模最大的光纤光缆产品的研发和生产基地。

　　自1992年投产以来，长飞公司的光纤和光缆产品的产销量连续十六年排名全国第一位，累计产销光纤5250万芯公里、光缆123万皮长公里（合光纤3600万公里），销售总额超过200亿元。产品远销美国、日本、东南亚、中东、非洲等50多个国家和地区，并跻身成为全球第二大光纤生产企业及第五大光缆生产企业。

Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Company Ltd. (YOFC) was established in May, 1988. Its being operated by China Telecommunications Corporation, Wuhan Yangtze Communications Industry Group Co., Ltd. and Draka Comteq of the Netherlands.It is the only specialized company in China which masters preform making, fiber drawing and cabling techniques for mass production.

YOFC is located at 4# Guanshan Er Road in the scenic East Lake Hi-tech Development Zone with the area of 150,000 m² and annual sales of nearly 3 billion RMB and 1000 staff members. So far, YOFC is a high-tech company dedicated to the manufacturing, research and development of optical Fibre and cable products, which is the largest one in China at present. Being equipped with the state-of-the-art technologies, YOFC is able to provide customers with a complete series of fiber and cable products.

Since 1992, the output and the sales of fiber and cable products of YOFC has been ranking the first in China for the successive 16 years. The total Fibre length is 52.5 million km and the cable length is 1.23 million sheath-km (with fibers of 36 million km) with the total sales of more than 20 billion RMB. The products have been sold to more than 50 countries including USA, Japan, Southeast Asia, Middle East, and etc. Now YOFC has become the second largest fiber manufacturer and the fifth cable manufacturer in the world.
