Job Description:
This position is as a supply chain architect and project manager in the Asia O
perations and Notebook Supply Chain Strategy and Business Intelligence group.
The successful candidate will make, track, evolve and keep promises associated
with the value to be delivered through supply chain improvement projects. He/
She will lead initiation, scope, execute, control and close process improvemen
ts to ensure that clearly defined project objectives are delivered in a timely
and cost effective manner. Strong project management skills and execution of
those skills are expected. This position will interface with many groups inclu
ding regional business units, procurement, suppliers, SC functional discipline
s, ODMs, Suppliers, IT and PSG strategy teams

The implemented strategies must be consistent with the HP, PSG, and Notebook G
BU business objectives. Ultimately, they should both meet user requirements fo
r performance/capability, and company/shareholder requirements for cost to man
age. Projects will primarily focus on improving the capability and performance
of the Asia-based supply chain operations.

Deliverables include:
1. Be the GBU Supply Chain subject matter expert in an assigned area of focus.

2. Improve performance (capability, availability, timeliness) by coordinating
and integrating IT toolsets, data architectures, processes, and resources in a
more effective manner.
3. Ensure that changes are self-sustaining in production.
4. Establish and manage cross-functional, cross-regional and/or cross-business
unit teams to design and implement end-to-end capabilities and strategies.
5. Focus is on Notebooks units & accessories needs, though assistance/linkage
may be required with PSG and other HP groups where feasible and more efficient
.


Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related business or technical discipline with
a minimum of 5 years industry related experience or equivalent. Master’s degr
ee is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years project management experience with progressively ad
vancing responsibility.
• PMI PMP certification or equivalent years of experience in program man
agement and demonstrated knowledge/competencies
• Supply chain technical knowledge.
• Sound planning and budget management skills (people, funding, time).

• Strong negotiation skills, to include conflict resolution.
• Ability to develop mid and long-term planning strategies.
• Demonstrated skills in systematic problem solving.
• Experience in developing new and uncharted business solutions which ha
ve significant, direct impact on profit and loss.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in a cross-functional environment to d
evelop solutions to maximize business results.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written, including presentatio
n skills.
• Ability to provide strong leadership across organizations with positiv
e influence
Experience includes:
• Developing new and uncharted business solutions which have significant
, direct impact on profit and loss.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in a cross-functional environment to d
evelop solutions to maximize business results
• Demonstrated ability to lead from within a team, influence others with
out specific authority.

Performance Skills Details:
Generation of Strategy — Assesses the business condition (static or changing)
and takes the leadership role in generating the necessary action to gain an a
ligned approach to possible future business situations. Develops alternatives
and recommendations to the business partners out of a thorough understanding o
f applicable Industry trends and PSG business initiatives and current strategi
es, but also include new and generative thinking. Strategies are inclusive of
data, intuition and encompass whole system thinking.

Management of Ambiguity — Takes undefined, changing, or obscure responsibilit
ies and issues, turns them into salient points, provides clear deliverables an
d actions that are based on educated, insightful assumptions. Articulates sali
ent points to others to insure forward movement. Acts with decisiveness in sup
port of stakeholders or in unfamiliar situations.

Political Influence —Adept or sensitive to undercurrents within the organizat
ion that might create roadblocks in achieving resolution or consensus. Applies
that knowledge through coaching and feedback up and across the organization t
o minimize dissension and gain alignment.

Applied Facilitation, Presentation, Meeting Skills — Collects other thoughts
and contributions during group processes. Powerfully and persuasively expresse
s ideas and concepts visually. Appropriately manages resistance to proposals w
hile gaining cooperation. Knows when to acquiesce in light of new information
or changing business needs. Sets audience targeted agendas and leads productiv
e discussions using processes tailored to desired outcomes. Ensures appropriat
e follow up actions and expands communication as needed.

Group Collaboration — Comfortable and effective in the process of co-creation
in both small and large groups. Contributes to and fosters synergy in group e
fforts. Works well within a shared leadership model. Adept at negotiating diff
erences in points-of view logically and concisely. Builds rapport, gain trust,
and align with the needs of others.
