Internship description:
The program is designed to give Summer Consultants an experience that reflects as much as possible the typical experience of a full-time consultant. Summer Consultants work with Monitor case teams on projects that enhance our clients’ long term competitive position and performance in ways that are distinctive, innovative, and sustainable. To do this, summer consultants must perform the following activities:
1. Work with other Monitor team members in developing hypotheses, gathering data, brainstorming alternatives, and generating recommendations
2. Integrate broad sets of data into frameworks which can then be used to synthesize learning and develop strategy
3. Determine the appropriate analysis techniques and supervise the analysis of existing and new customer data
4. Communicate or manage third party research vendors
Training is provided primarily on the job and through on-going mentorship relationships. The program includes an introductory session to introduce you to Monitor Group’s strategy and an overview of our methods and group company structure. Finally, numerous social and informal events are planned, so you can get to know the firm on a more personal level.
Requirements:
- Excellent English
- A strong and demonstrated interest in intellectual challenges
- Background or experience (through coursework or employment) in marketing, quantitative analysis and financial analysis
- Knowledge in business strategy, marketing, finance, operations, and data analysis techniques
- Excellent academic credentials for both undergraduate and graduate coursework (if apply)
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Leadership qualities
- Willingness and ability to take initiative and learn independently
