EDAW Asia Open Positions – Entry Level

Urban Designer(城市设计师)

Office: Hong Kong, Shekou, Beijing

Responsibilities:

·  Complete drafting assignments.

·  Conduct research and analysis as needed for a project.

·  Compile data, perform design computations, and prepare plans and renderings.

·  Assist in the production of models, marketing material, and presentation packages for public/private review.

·  Assist project manager or senior level staff in developing a design strategy.

·  Attend meetings both inside and outside the firm pertaining to existing and potential projects.

·  Provide additional support to ensure smooth execution of projects.

Requirements:

·  Promising portfolio of built work which demonstrates technical capabilities.

·  Excellent design, visualization, and graphic skills.

·  Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and, Adobe Creative Suite software packages.

·  Proficiency in MS Office Suite as well as overall strong computer proficiency.

·  Experience working with 3D programs such as Studio, Rhino, Sketch-up beneficial

·  Good hand drawing skills also beneficial.

·  Strong attention to detail.

Landscape Designer（景观设计师）

Responsibilities:

·  Client and project management, design and internal coordination work

·  Working with a team of individuals from diverse disciplines and cultures to meet project requirements.

·  Assist project manager or senior level staff in developing a design strategy.

·  Attend meetings both inside and outside the firm pertaining to existing and potential projects.

·  Participate in basic office-related management responsibilities as part of your development

Requirements:

Biologists/Environmental Planners（生物学家/环境规划师）

Responsibilities

·  Conducting site visits and rapid resource assessment

·  Providing an environmental perspective in collaboration with design teams

·  Assessing the biological sensitivity and potential of a project area

·  Timely input to presentations and reports

·  Working with environmental and planning teams to ensure the project appropriately addresses environmental sensitivity.

Requirements:

·  Experience conducting biological field surveys for plants, wildlife, or higher level ecosystems; data collection/analysis preferred.

·  Experience in projects preferred.

Economic Research

Office: Hong Kong, Shanghai

Responsibilities

• Conducting research for project feasibility studies and other advisory work
• Assist in collecting market data for financial feasibility studies, with an emphasis on development projects
• Assist in the preparation of project reports
• Prepare documentation and presentation packages

Requirements

• Bachelor/Master degree in Economics, in Real Estate/Land Management, Urban Planning or property/building related disciplines
• Strong command of written and spoken English. Fluency in Mandarin preferred, but not essential

Economic Planner（经济规划师）

Office: Hong Kong, Shanghai

Position Summary:

The Economic Planner will be responsible for conducting economic, socioeconomic, and related impact assessments. Responsibilities include preparation for compliance documents, resource management plans, general or specific plans, or other planning and policy analysis projects. The Economic Planner is responsible for data collection, research, and analysis, preparing socio-economic baselines, and analyzing general socio-economic data. The Economic Planner is also responsible for policy development and formulation. He/she will assess the dynamics between housing and population growth, such as the nature of new development and the potential profile of new occupiers, and assess the associated infrastructure needs of new sustainable communities. Additionally, the Economic Planner may participate in multidisciplinary projects such as the preparation of recreation use estimates, conducting land use and GIS-based assessments, assessing a project’s potential agricultural and social impacts, and helping prepare community planning-related master plans and economic feasibility studies.

Position Title: Senior Planner/ Planner

Office: Hong Kong

Education: Degree in urban planning, urban design or related disciplines

Requirements:

·          Candidates should have acquired comprehensive and all-round experience in planning and urban design projects.  Have attained relevant professional qualifications, and/or demonstrated working knowledge of the planning systems in Hong Kong and/or Mainland China is preferred

·          Be adaptable and able to work independently, and have strong communication skills

·          Experience in development planning and / or working in multi-disciplinary team

·          Good command of Putonghua and English

·          Possess presentable graphic and writing skill

Position Title: GIS Specialist (Design and Planning)

Office: Hong Kong

Education: Degree in GIS, urban planning, urban design, information technology or related disciplines

Requirements:

·          Candidates should have acquired hands on experience in applying GIS and other information technology for planning and design.  These may include but not limit to building GIS database from image and CAD, performing 2D and 3D spatial analysis, and producing fine graphic outputs by GIS tools.

·          Be enthusiastic to push technical limits and explore new solutions to geospatial data problems. 

·          Solid skills in use of GIS and CAD software such as ESRI ArcGIS and AutoCAD. 

·          Presentable 2D and 3D graphic skill using Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, etc will be a benefit

·          Good command of Putonghua and English is preferred
