We are recruiting the following positions: 1.Electronics Design (2 located in Job Purpose · Electrical design of new and revised products, equipment, utilising processes based on established engineering principles to meet requirements. Involved with designs of low to high complexity. · Involved with full product development cycle from requirements definition to production phase. Job Functions · Review applicable specifications, standards, rules, etc. and ensuring that the appropriate actions resulting from this review have been taken, · Intimate with OrCad schematic capture. Must be able to create formal drawings describing electrical designs. · Generate detailed design description documents that describe the specifications and characteristics of the electrical design. · Design processor boards based on Intel and DSP devices. · Develop digital and analog interface circuits (bus, serial and parallel) that interconnect the different components of the system · Devise cabling and harnesses schemes to interconnect subracks, racks, etc. · Identify and select new electrical components to be used in designs. · Demonstrated proficiency with the creation of design documentation, e.g. assembly drawings, Bills of Material (BOM), cabling drawings, wire lists, etc. · Work with mechanical engineering to create printed circuit board and cable assembly drawings for use by the production facility as part of their manufacturing process. · Work with bare board layout designers to develop and produce physical representations of the electrical designs that meet requirements. · Assist in the generation of prototypes and test as part of design concept verification and testing. · Knowledge of the development of programmable devices (CPLDs, FPGAs, etc) is an asset. · Performs design verifications through engineering analysis and test verifications. · Provide engineering support to manufacturing. · Skillset Requirements · Requires University degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering, plus at least 2 years related work experience. 2. Systems Design Engineer (1 located in JOB PURPOSE To lead the definition of the system concept, architecture, functionality and performance that satisfies the customer requirements for a train control system. To monitor the evolution of the design and manage the orderly introduction of changes. KEY JOB FUNCTIONS Perform the work correctly, within cost and schedule limits, as defined in approved budgets and cost accounts. A System Engineer typically works with a diverse team of engineers to define what will be designed, how it will perform and how it will be determined that it is working correctly. In more detail, the main responsibilities are as follows: · Convert Customer requirements into conceptual designs and prepare associated documentation by performing operational analyses, simulations and technical trade-off studies evaluating alternative design configurations and functional features. · Create new concepts or modify existing concepts to fulfil customer requirements. · Prepare system & subsystem requirement specifications, interface requirements and test requirement documents by analysing, decomposing modelling and refining customer requirements and typical train control domain requirements. Make a record of Traceability across layers of requirements and up to the customer requirements. · Prepare system operational plans and reports which explain how the equipment being developed meets customer requirements. Carry out an evaluation of operational design limit and performance analyses and simulations to support the above. · Prepare and support preparation of proposals based on a knowledge of ATC technology, customer requirements and backed by analysis, simulation and trade-off of key designs. · Present technical design proposals and reports to customers and/or other engineering/management groups in clear, complete, concise and non-ambiguous terms. · Supervise consultants and other Alcatel engineers, by defining their work, coaching them on how and what to prepare, monitoring their progress and directing them on priorities. · Prepare specialised ATC system analyses based on polytechnic engineering skills and detail knowledge of the ATCS domain, covering one or more of the following: · Logic and Continuous Controls Design; · Safety distance calculations; · Headway simulations SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED · Engineering degree in Railway Signalling, Electrical Engineering, Computer Sci or equivalent. · +8 years relevant working experience. · Knowledge of signal processing theory and experience with the application of digital filtering and signal recognition techniques. · Knowledge of railway signalling techniques. · Knowledge of specification-driven systems design (as it applies to computer systems with both hardware and software operation). · Familiarity with military and automated train control systems specifications and standards. · Good technical English language writing skills; good communication and analytical skills. · Familiarity with modern software development methodology tools and software specification. · Good planning, team coaching and organization skills. · Basic mechanical & dynamic motion analysis, reliability engineering, radio communications systems engineering, automatic controls and command engineering. · Experience with DOORS, or equivalent, based requirements tool, is desirable. 3. Software Engineer (2 located in JOB PURPOSE To participate in the production of high quality software applications that satisfy the customer requirements, are safe and reliable. KEY JOB FUNCTIONS · Analyze customer requirements · Specify, Design, code, integrate and test software applications using the company standard methodology · Implementation of real time systems in C or ‘C++’. · Ensure application of standards, practices/procedures, quality assurance · Ensure adherence to schedule and budget. · Raise problem reports, giving findings on problems. · Provide support to marketing and other departments as required. · Use of CASE (Computer Aided Software Engineering) tools. · Keep abreast of relevant technology developments. BASIC SKILL LEVEL REQUIREMENTS (general) · B.Sc. Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent. · + 5 years relevant working experience. · Knowledge of railway signaling techniques. ? Knowledge of development environment (simulators, DOORS, DDTS, PVCS/ClearCase, Rational ROSE and RoseRT, etc.). ? Good working experience in the design of real-time applications ? Good spoken and written English ? Knowledge of railway standards, eg. CENELEC ? Familiarity with the discipline of Software Engineering, understanding of a Software development Life-cycle. ADDITIONAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS (ATS software) ? MFC, good knowledge of Windows O/S ? Network technology ? UML documentation ? Hypertext tools ADDITIONAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS (ZC/MAU/VOBC software) ? RoseRT based modelling, code generation and testing ? Experience in using a real-time UNIX-like run-time environment / kernel ? Knowledge of methods, standards and processes adequate for Vital (Safety critical) software development 4. Site Manager (1 located in JOB PURPOSE · Responsible for the management of all site activities during the installation, and test & commissioning phases of a project. KEY JOB FUNCTIONS · Co-ordinate the planning and scheduling of installation, testing and all other field activities. · Key interface with the Civil Contractors for site activities. · Provide technical support for all field installation activities (work done by others). · Attend site meetings with customers, staff and sub-contractors. · Prepare regular status and the progress reports and meeting minutes for the Project Manager, Project Engineer and the Customer. · Ensure all site installation drawings and documents are kept current to relevant revisions. · Ensure that “as-built” information is recorded as the work progresses and that this is submitted to the Design office for updating of documentation. · Co-ordinate the activities of technical specialists on site to perform integration testing, trouble shooting and commissioning testing. · Assist with site testing during the integration and commissioning periods. · Assist with training of customer operations and maintenance staff with respect to the train control system. · Respond to various customer correspondence, either directly or via the Project Manager. · Prepare problem/action reports and ensures these are processed correctly and communicated to the Project Manager and Project Engineer. · Perform PICO testing and assists in T&C activities as required. · Administer & maintain site office, including the co-ordination of office suppliers, security, etc. · Advise project manager of site staffing level requirements. BASIC SKILL LEVEL REQUIREMENTS · B.Sc. Electrical Engineering or equivalent. · 5 years relevant working experience. · Working knowledge of Alcatel products with respect to installation support and testing. · Working knowledge of safety standards and practices required at project site. · Experience in installation and testing of train control systems. · PC literate and use of word processing, spread sheet and scheduling software packages. · Fluency in English, both written and verbal. · Knowledge of company Policies & Procedures. 5. Project Planner(1 HC located in Shanghai) The Project Planner/Scheduler is responsible for the coordination, preparation, monitoring and maintenance of Critical Path Merhod (CPM) based schedules from which various levels of schedule reports are derived. The preparation and maintenance of these schedules is done in close conjunction with the various Team Leaders and Department Managers, as required. Developing and presenting various schedule based reports and metrics such as schedule variance reports, Earned Value Performance analysis, Resource Reports and company specific metrices are part of Planner’s responsibilities ¨ Develops Work Breakdown Structure ( ¨ Prepares detailed CPM Logic Diagrams in conjunction with Project Manager, Team Leaders and Department Managers. ¨ Ensures the assignment of budgeted resources to each network activity with the appropriate Team Leader. ¨ Prepares Manpower Loading Reports for all Functional Departments. ¨ Prepares Schedules, Graphs and Progress Curves for monthly reports and progress reviews for both the Project Manager and Team Leaders as requested. ¨ Monitors and reviews the schedule with the estimates to complete ( ¨ Coordinates with the Project Cost Controller in activating and processing Work Packages ¨ Highlights problem areas during schedule updates to the Project Manager in order to minimize schedule impacts and devise workarounds, if possible. ¨ Monitors and updates schedules with progress for all Functional Departments, Sub-Contractors and Site instal |
